This semester project was all about exploring the spaces in-between objects, creating pathways sectionally with axis and destination. The predecent of the Suleymayie Mosque in Turkey had a clear axis of direction, precession, and destination. The geometry utilizes this form of linarity, with its overall shape and with its sectional objects within. The geometry is a result of the intersection of 2 different geometries and extracting the space where they intersected and using that inbetween space as the overall exterior form. There is one main sectional object that is elongated and splits into 2 and shaped throughout the project from one side to the other. The skin is based on the Murqurna patterns from Turkish mosque, a new contemporary translation of these classic elements from the past.
